Monaco

Hi Lena
Sorry it has taken so long but I will now send you the pictures I managed to take during the Monaco race weekend.
To be honest, after our rather bad Barcelona race Gustavnallen was looked upon, by some members of the team, as a bad omen or jinx! More so after free practice on the Thursday. I took him down the pitlane and Nobu's car had a problem! After that I left him in the truck whenever we went to the pitlane. Things then improved😂. If Nobu had not broken down in free practice and had managed to get a run on his new tyres before qualifying, we think he would have qualified higher up the order and ultimately stood a chance of actually winning the race. Ifs and buts! Other teams probably have similar stories. What was nice for our team in the first race, was that Nobu was in fourth place before the pitstops but afterwards was then in third. The guy who had been in third raced for us last year and a combination of his new team having a slower pit stop than us and us producing the fastest pit stop of the race, meant that we managed to help Nobu into a podium place! That felt good! During the races it is very difficult for us, as in the pitstop crew, to keep track of what is happening in the race. Which sometimes does help take the pressure off!
We were very pleased that Louis had finished 8th and therefore had pole position for Race 2. It is so hard to overtake at Monaco, if you make a good start from pole it is then quite difficult to not win! Our hopes were up! Then Ghiotto got his penalty and Louis had to start P2. Then you need a little luck. Louis did drive very well though and almost made it! It was exciting to watch. I didn't manage to get any pictures after race 2 as everyone was flat out packing up and rushing off to catch their flight home.
So, two second places was not bad in the end and also proved that your little bear was no jinx! Maybe we should have sent him to the Indianapolis 500. Our team had no luck whatsoever out there!
These pictures show Gustav chilling out by the pool at a hotel where we stayed near the truckwash. The following morning we got out of bed at 4:15hrs to take the truck into Monaco. This is very difficult and we get escorted in early to avoid the morning rush hour traffic.
Anyway, I'll get on with sending the other pictures in smaller files so they don't take so long to process and send.
Kind regards
Geoff.
